Welcome to Courageous Adventures!
Our flagship Courageous Adventures program provides monthly experiences for foster children within carefully structured, supportive environments. These strategically designed experiences range from wildlife interactions at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to skill-building opportunities at Bass Pro Shops, the Archery School of the Rockies, and Ninja Warrior courses. These experiences serve multiple critical functions simultaneously:
● Providing developmental milestones for children navigating complex trauma
● Creating opportunities for caregiver-child bonding
● Establishing peer support networks for isolated foster families
● Offering much-needed respite that directly combats placement disruption
Each event is designed and facilitated by our executive team alongside volunteers trained in trauma-informed care principles, ensuring children with complex needs can safely experience joy, build confidence, and develop social skills. In contrast, caregivers connect with others who understand their unique challenges. Overall, the program provides experiences that many foster families cannot otherwise access or afford. Little Monkey Bizness in Colorado Springs, a place where kids can truly “monkey around”! Whether it be on our giant indoor playground or for a birthday party or event, they provide a safe, clean environment for family fun. Their indoor playground and party center is conveniently located east of I-25 off of the Academy Boulevard exit. Free admission vouchers are available upon request.

Archery School of the Rockies is the best local training playground for children of all ages. Roughly half of the kids in our community don't participate in extracurriculars. Our new scholarships program means now those kids can access all the amazing benefits but only if they know about it… Please help us out by spreading the word!

Colorado Youth Outdoors
Colorado Youth Outdoors’ mission is to build relationships through outdoor recreation.
We get conversations started over time spent fishing, busting clays, shooting a bow, learning survival skills & tying some flies. It’s CYO’s old-fashioned way to spend quality time together.
CYO teaches classes for teenagers and their adult in Fort Collins and Colorado Springs. In addition, our Fort Collins campus offers field trips, team building activities, and even summer camp!
